Divya and Aditya wanted sand between their toes on their wedding day, so they booked a private beachfront resort in Mandarmani and built a two-day celebration entirely around the Bengal coastline — sunrise yoga for early-bird guests, sunset vows for everyone else.
A private stretch of beach was sectioned off for the ceremony, with rows of white wooden chairs facing the water and a pastel-draped mandap that photographed beautifully against the evening sky.
"We kept joking that our biggest décor budget went into sand-proofing everything. Worth every rupee."
Pastel pinks, corals and whites replaced the usual reds, with driftwood and seashell accents worked into the mandap structure. A sundowner sangria bar became the unofficial centrepiece of the sangeet night.
The couple exchanged vows barefoot as the tide came in, followed by a beach bonfire reception with a live acoustic set that ran well past midnight. Guests were given kaftans and light linens as welcome gifts, setting the tone from the moment they checked in.
